Nagara and Drakra Gak Gorge north of Shangrila

Eric and I thought it would be led to just another mountain village when we first took a small mountain road north of Gyalthang / Zhongdian (also called Shangrila now ) 3 years ago, we were stunned by the gorges, steep valleys, caves and all the different sandstone formations, all just 3 hrs drive from the main bustling tourist places and towns of Shangrila in NW Yunnan. We decided to take the same small mountain road to Mayo (Mulu) again, but this time we wanted to find more about the regions of Mayo and Nagara and their mountains and culture. We have found great trekking possibilties, fasinating mountain vistas and sacred caves dripping with legends. We are thrilled to tell you that we are gonna take limited number of people on this adventure each year potentially, this 5 day trip is a combination of day hikes, cave explorations, homestay with 2-3 day  trip extension to walk an an abandoned village following the old trail built into cliff face passing mesmerizing gorge view
